“Determination rose upon Ari’s face.” Ari was determined to take action, to move forward. He made up his mind he would not quit or give up on his purpose and quest. He was resolute to a definite line of action, he was unwavering and firm in his decision. This behavior caused reactions to surface from those around him. Fear and doubt were expressed concerning his plan but this did not deter Ari in the least.
He had made a decision out of his conviction and he would follow it through. This is what makes a leader, the simple act of making a decision and sticking with it to the end. When we cannot make a decision then this opens the door to failure.
Situations will arise that will cause us to doubt ourselves or to be fearful of the outcome but we need to set the negative aside and stay with the course of our decision. This is what brings a successful outcome. Ari’s decision fueled his courage and enabled him to act in the way of leadership.
The difference between success and failure is the skill of being able to make a decision. All leaders have this operating in their lives. They are able to make a decision and then put action toward making it happen.
Determination means, “definite line of action, unwavering, firm, purposeful, to make a decision”. Do you find yourself wavering at times and unable to make a decision? Perhaps you find yourself in that place of uncertainty all too often and wish you could just this once stand firm and make that decision, without hesitating, and then move forward in confidence.
Ari didn’t arrive to his place of leadership overnight. He traveled far on his journey to where he could finally experience determination arising upon his face. He was challenged to the very end but remained resolute, unwavering, and firm in his faith and actions to stay the course. This led him to powerfully impacting and changing many lives not only in his own pride but in the lives of his enemies as well.
It all begins with making a decision. If you find yourself unsure, confused, unclear or lacking direction, begin to make some decisions. Make them in confidence and move forward with action. Trust that God can lead you; trust that you can be a leader of others, then determination will rise upon your face, and the way will be shown to you, the way of leadership.
Make the decision as Ari did, to follow the purpose that God has put upon your life with determination, a definite line of action, unwavering, firm, and not willing to ever give up.
